Another SDXC Card Fails ===> Get Better Camera Cards

Another one bites the dust.
SanDisk Extreme Pro 512GB SDXC
This is not the first SD card that has failed me, or the first SanDisk to fail physically, and I’ve had SanDisk corrupt files too. Lexar and SanDisk are poorly constructed and end up breaking or splitting at the seam, etc. I have no confidence in them any more for my cameras.
Back in 2016 this card cost several hundred dollars. It saw very light-duty use (a backup kept in my wallet and in its plastic case), so it’s not like it had any reasonable justification to break like this. A Pro card made of flimsy plastic that just falls apart?
A well-built SD card should not fail like this, and its flash memory should be good for many years too, essentially forever.
Get the good stuff
I use OWC Atlas Pro SD cards (reviews...) exclusively now—very solidly built (you can feel it), and they have worked flawlessly in every camera so far.
Keep cards in top shape

DIGLLOYD: seems like that. All the SanDisk cards I’ve used have either broken outright or are showing signs of failure.

I've been using the Sony TOUGH memory cards for awhile and we use them at work also. Never tried the OWC models you mention but I can confirm the Sony TOUGH seem much better built than any Lexar or Sandisk.
DIGLLOYD: yep. But at this point I’ve switched to all OWC cards for my work—best lineup and support.
