PhaseONE Capture One: “Capture One DOES NOT Currently Support OS 11 Big Sur”

Anyone who reads my MacPerformanceGuide.com knows that my standing recommendation is to NOT do any major macOS upgrade for at least 6 months after initial release, and for working professionals to NEVER upgrade once a system is working—it’a a “toaster” getting the job done. Make sure that software updates are partially disabled to forestall a workflow disaster.
In recent years, every macOS release has brought loads of new bugs and problems and damaged my workflow by making more work for me to work around problems not likely to ever be fixed. While macOS Catalina was bad, macOS Big Sur just piles more manure on the heap, with ZERO benefit to my workflow with either “upgrade”—all downside, no upside whatsoever.
UPDATE: just after I created this post, PhaseONE now has release Capture One 21, but v20 remains incompatible.

Just in case you were thinking about an operating system update…. DON’T. No Sur, sir.
As of the date of this publication, there is no Capture One product currently compliant with OS 11Edit 12/08/20: Capture One 21 brings Big Sur support, but there is still no version of Capture One 20 that supports Big Sur
Tethering Via FireWire In Capture One Is Not Supported With MacOS 11 (Big Sur)!!*
(*in fact, NONE of your legacy Firewire devices will work at all in Big Sur. Scanners, hard drives, digital backs are all affected by this.)
