Zeiss Loxia 25mm f/2.4 Night Shooting

See my Zeiss DSLR lens wish list and get Zeiss Milvus at B&H Photo.

The Zeiss Loxia 25mm f/2.4 looks to be on my short list for night shooting lenses:

Zeiss Loxia 25mm f/2.4 Examples: Night Shots

Includes images up to full camera resolution.

As for the Sony A7R III, its hot pixel noise is atrocious (and starts right at ISO 100). I’ll take the Nikon D850 any day (night) for night shooting. As well, it is a mind-boggling engineering goof to not build in a Time mode (as with the D850), thus limiting the maximum shutter speed to 30 seconds (I forgot the overwrought cheap plastic Sony remote).

The Zeiss Loxia line is “Leica M for Sony” but that’s not fair to Zeiss, since the Loxia lenses cost 1/5 to 1/3 the price and the newest designs perform better.
