Sigma sd Quattro X3I “Super Fine Detail” File Quality Dynamic Range: Fruit Bowl with Kitchen View

Sigma sd Quattro
(APS-C sensor)

See my Sigma mirrorless wish list at B&H Photo.

The extreme dynamic range caught my eye here: deeply shadowed fruit in the bowl, plus reflections and a bright outdoors. The dynamic range required here would be a challenge for any camera.

Example: Fruit Bowl with Kitchen View, Color and Monochrome (Sigma 30/1.4 DC HSM Art)

Includes images up to full camera resolution (5424 x 3616 = 19.6 megapixels) along with two black and white variants.

Image quality is outstanding (color accuracy aside, which I comment on). I would say that the SFD mode makes for outstanding black and white imagery. Extreme yanks with a Photoshop Black & White layer are possible, because the image has virtually no noise, even in dark reds and oranges.
