On the Road, Death Valley Tomorrow
Get Zeiss Loxia at B&H Photo and see my in-depth review of the Zeiss Loxia 21mm f/2.8.
Things are quiet here as I’m on the road, heading down to Death Valley tomorrow.
I don’t know what kind of plant this is, but its growth pattern is quite interesting. It grows in Death Valley and surrounding areas in arid locations at moderate altitude (about 5000' here).
The Zeiss Loxia 21/2.8 is a real gem of a lens (about $1499). The Loxia 21/2.8 has become my favorite lens on the Sony A7R II for the outdoors, where manual focus is quick and hyper accurate at 12.5X. Its diminutive size and low weight make carrying the camera a pleasant experience compared to a much bulkier and heavier Nikon D810 + Zeiss 21/2.8.
The Really Right Stuff TFA-01 Pocket Pod makes ultra-l0w shooting perspectives much faster and easier than trying to splay the legs of a regular tripod.
