Pentax K3 II: SuperResolution Pixel Shift Mode vs StdRes with Saturated Red and Blue Fabric (Cycling Jersey)
See my Pentax K1 wish list at B&H Photo.
See also my in-depth review of the Sigma 35/1.4 DG HSM Art, used for this study.
This evaluation pits the Pentax K3 II SuperResolution pixel shift mode against its standard conventional resolution Bayer recording. SuperRes mode in discussed in more detail in the overview of the Pentax K1.
The subject here is a cycling jersey with strongly saturated red and blue along with a very fine weave of white fabric, including small details of red and blue against white. Will the SuperRes full-color pixels show a clear advantage?
I thought that this kind of subject matter might be of particular interest to product photographers shooting clothing or similar, where fabric weave and bright colors present challenges.
