Recovering a Deleted File from a Camera Card (Olympus E-M1 Fumble Buttons)

Last night I shot this aperture series with the Olympus OM-D E-M1.

Trying to use the EM1 in semi-darkness with the world’s most confounding menu system and tiny badly-placed buttons, I fumbled onto the Delete button, which promptly erased the f/1.2 frame of my aperture series.

I was dumbfounded and very annoyed at the EM1. The series could not be reshot as the light had failed. So I decided to look around for undelete software.

* Having to see the camera to operate it is a testament to bad design, but that is what the buttons force one to do, as they are so small and so randomly placed. Over time, braille-like skills might develop, but that is beside the point.
