Added to my review of the Nikon 50mm f/1.2 AIS is a fascinating textbook case of focus shift. The 50/1.2 AIS was a new lens for me, and so I did not set out to find this effect, but this example is particularly instructive for the lens by itself, but also why any comparison with a lens having such behavior is at best dubious.
