Zeiss 135mm f/2 APO-Sonnar in Harsh Daylight (Bristlecones)

Writing this at 11,600' elevation high in the mountains, with a cell signal.
The Zeiss 135mm f/2 APO-Sonnar is spectacular out in the field: my Nikon D800E has never been treated so well (resolving power). Want to shoot at f/2 to enjoy the vignetting help for high contrast lighting yet have full resolution? So long as depth of field works, it’s a stunner.
These images shot in harsh mid-day high altitude daylight. The white rocks act to provide a natural fill light, so shooting these backlit trees works well, or at least provides opportunities; the lighting is very difficult to work with otherwise especially with the sun high overhead as the summer solstice approaches.
