Nikon D800E + Nikon AF-S 28mm f/1.8G Field Shots (Dana Meadow)

Nikon AF-S 28mm f/1.8G

Published in my DAP is a new page of examples on the Nikon D800E with the new Nikon 28mm f/1.8G.

This is a 2nd sample of the Nikon 28/1.8G, after the first one showed some asymmetry left/right (I returned that one).

Of course, focus shift of the 28/1.8G does not change by sample. Still I enjoyed shooting the 28/1.8G wide open for most of these shots, where it delivers very pleasing results with lovely bokeh.

These examples represent a scenario that I find highly appropriate to a 28mm lens: close portraiture and environmental shots. The goal here is most definitely real photography of fast-changing subjects, capturing the moment, not “how sharp is it”.
