Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 Examples Coming

Coming today are some examples, and more will follow this week. As always, I favor a variety of field shots over anything else for establishing the merits of a lens, and that is where I will concentrate my efforts for most of this week.

I have to admit to some surprise and delight at the quality of the images I am seeing at f/1.4 on natural outdoor scenes with the Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 Distagon. It appears that the relatively weak showing in my comparison is due in part to some field curvature, and also that on natural scenes a bit more sharpening can extract a high latent sharpness that counteracts the effects of spherical aberration.
