Death Valley Survivor
I’m back from my Death Valley photo tour. All login info and email has been responded to.
Unfortunately, I learned a lesson about sinus/pulmonary infections: don’t do demanding bike rides until fully recovered. So after being done with my photo tour, I was “out of gas” with not much energy left for photography, with a short walk feeling too hard. Still I did some shooting, but when it felt like pre-pneumonia, I headed home. The antibiotic Zithromax seems to be helping after just one day, so I hope to be back at full strength soon enough.
This image is from 20 Mule Team Canyon, which I highly recommend— go early and spend the day there exploring various compositions. Easy drive, easy access, it’s a gem within the park, and offering many more options than Zabriskie Point in my view.
How many photographers with Gitzo tripods can fit on Zabriskie Point? Around a dozen if a photo group shows up. Not exactly what I look for— I prefer to find my own image somewhere else on a less well know subject. Which makes it almost as interesting to photograph the photographers!
