Reader comment on NEC warranty service
Reader Michael J emails to say:
Two things. First, I'm renewing my subscriptions to your publications because during the last year they have helped me tremendously in becoming a better photographer.
Second, after finally reaching a good time to deal with the bright spot issue on my 3090WQXi, I've found NEC's warranty/customer service to be extremely responsive. They have just shipped me another display free of charge, and I will return the one I have now in the packaging provided. This is great because it means there will not be any down time, as my only other display is useless for photo editing. NEC responded to my emails within minutes of my initial inquires, and the one phone conversation I had with them was fast and pleasant. Thought you might like to know.
DIGLLOYD: I use the NEC 30" as my main screen, and the NEC 27" as a second display, vertically. See my review of the NEC PA271W and my recommendations on wide gamut. Both NEC displays are available at B&H Photo, see this handy list.
Sometimes I’m asked “why not Eizo?”. Well the huge price gap aside, one New York pro tells me that if he had to pay for his display, he’d buy the NEC.
